RFID/Semiconductor engineer

For this position, we are open to an experienced RFID/Semi Conductor engineer to work within our RND function by adding a unique set of technical skills to a team of successful engineering professionals.

Our RND group is responsible for developing, optimizing and implementing proprietary process technologies and equipment for our manufacturing partners worldwide. One of businesses supported by this group is the Seal Network RFID Division specializing in integrating RF (UHF and NF) technology into customer applications within a multitude of various markets.

Your designs will be manufactured by NXP, the global leader in near-field communication technology. You will work closely with the Chief Scientist, blockchain researchers and the foundry services team to create the hardware counterpart of the Seal ecosystem.


  • Collaborates with NXP to bring proprietary Seal blockchain chips from design, to prototype to production
  • Responsible for testing and design optimization also aided by computational software simulation of Radio Frequency (RF) antenna in RFID circuits.
  • Develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of RFID system design requirements and problems.
  • Individual will design and participate in laboratory experiments using electronic and mechanical test equipment.
  • This position includes theoretical as well as experimental work. You will be responsible for the collection and analysis of experimental data.
  • Run system simulations and collaborate with RF design team to determine design feasibility.
  • Tests transmitting and receiving antenna performance used in RFID.
  • Provides technical leadership and consultation to peers.
  • Prepares, delivers, and submits technical papers and performs engineering studies and training.
  • Stays current with the latest technical developments and promising new technologies within area of expertise.
  • Conducts site visits and experimental investigations and analyses engineering problems, proposes solutions and alternatives, and provides recommendations.

who you are

  • MS degree in Electronics or in Physics with 5-10 years experience. Or PhD with 5 years experience is a plus.
  • An in-depth knowledge of mathematics, physics, general electronics theory as well as specialized training in areas such as wave propagation, impedance transformations are required.
  • This position requires experience in computational RF. Experience with numerical analysis software is required. The knowledge in RFID antenna applications is a plus.
  • General knowledge of electronic circuitry and microchip design and manufacture is a plus.
  • Applied knowledge of Laser manufacturing is a plus.
  • Good organizational and planning skills; ability to handle multiple projects/tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to both summarize critical facts and to write in-depth technical reports.
